Heather Dawson: An Introduction To Expressive Arts Therapy for Art Therapists
An Introduction To Expressive Arts Therapy for Art Therapists
This two day workshop will create an opportunity for students of art therapy and professional art therapists to explore the principles and practice of intermodal expressive arts therapy.

Art therapy students and art therapy graduates are eligible for admission to the Independent Studies stream of the Masters in Expressive Arts Therapy program at the European Graduate School in Switzerland. Attendance of this introductory workshop may be used as one of the qualifying entrance requirements to the Independent Studies Program .

The group will focus on experiential activities that direct attention to the ways in which a natural movement takes place between the various arts. Further work will include some discussion of arts based theory and how it applies to expressive arts therapy and art therapy practice. The intent and the flavour of the group is to excite and stimulate an appreciation of the natural connections that already exist between the various fields of the arts therapies (in particular between art therapy and expressive arts therapy) and to invite a curiosity and potential for new connections to unfold.

This group is offered twice a year (February and October) and will include guest presenters from the art therapy and expressive arts communities.
